38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Now for resolutions (Italics are 2014′s, then responses, then 2015 will be at the bottom):
2015 Resolutions:
1. Don’t beat myself up about weight loss. For the past two years, I have talked about losing weight and every year I beat myself up for not doing it. No more…just focus on being healthy. If the weight comes off while doing that, well great, but it’s not the focus.
I will continue to do this…it means a lot that I am not focusing on weight loss, but on healthiness.
2. Run a strong Flying Pig Half Marathon. The important part is that I finish.
Was my half-marathon super strong? No. But did I finish and did I feel an amazing sense of accomplishment when I crossed that finish line? YES. It was so worth the long runs, the injuries, the bruised toes, the freezing cold and everything to get that medal.
3. Continue to focus on being a supportive family member.
I think I did this…at least I hope I did! It was a busy year for some of my family and I hope they felt like I supported them even when I was far away.
4. Take my student group to the next level.
OH yes….they have done so many amazing things over the course of the past year. I can’t wait to see what they do in 2016!
2016 Resolutions:
1. Don’t beat myself up about weight loss. For the past two years, I have talked about losing weight and every year I beat myself up for not doing it. No more…just focus on being healthy. If the weight comes off while doing that, well great, but it’s not the focus.
2. Talk to health professionals about my health issues.
3. Run a strong RA selection process. We will have the largest RA staff ever this upcoming year and I need good folks to fill those spots!
4. Take time to read for pleasure and not sit in front of the television with my iPad every night.
Here’s to a new year…I hope it is happy and healthy for all!
